10 years of integration at the Service Centre in Wels
At Kellner & Kunz, around 150 people with disabilities currently undertake valuable work in the barrier-free service centre.
Even many years before the internal service centre was opened in 2011, Kellner & Kunz had been working successfully with individual institutions, but the contracts were awarded externally. The service centre offers the employees an appropriate environment and we can also harness logistical synergies more effectively. Our employees with disabilities put together screw selections, pack or repack small parts, or undertake minor assembly work.
People instead of machines
For Kellner & Kunz, these are important jobs that need to be performed precisely and reliably. It is exactly these qualities that the company values in its employees. They are fully integrated into the ongoing business operations. Their work is an integral part of higher-level core processes, which form the daily business at Kellner & Kunz.
Weighing
The weighing centre came into being as a result of the increasing demand for smaller batch sizes in the skilled trades sector and was added a few years after the service centre first opened. Here, our employees repack the items so that they can be ordered perfectly for SECO shelf management, for example.
Expansion
In the spring of 2021, the service centre was expanded during the construction of the new logistics building in order to be able to continue to handle the increasing demand for packaging efficiently.
